Gordon for Asheville

Gordon Smith will bring to city council valuable experience from a variety of fields. As a child and family therapist, Gordon has spent a career working to address some of the worst problems of our society. As someone who owns and runs his own business, he has outstanding experience at making sure services are delivered efficiently and on a budget. Gordon also spent two years in Belfast, Northern Ireland directing a community reconciliation program that brought together youths and neighborhoods from both sides of that country's religious divide. And here in Asheville his work as a writer and community organizer—and his sensible approaches to critical issues—have earned him accolades from Democrats and Republicans alike. He and his wife Rachael live in West Asheville's Hall Fletcher neighborhood.
